As from January 2010 the Infertility Treatment Authority has become the Victorian Assited Reproductive Treatment Authority (VARTA).
VARTA administer the registration system under the Act. They Undertake public education about treatment procedures and the best interests of children born as a result of treatment procedures. They also undertake community consultation about matters relevant to the Act. They monitor all programs & activities relating to assisted and reproductive treatments in Victoria.
Victoria Police (for criminal record checks)

Criminal Records Check is a new requirement under the ART Act 2008 for all people accessing treatment in Victoria. If you lived in another country for more than 12 months in the last 10 years or have migrated to Australia, you are required to supply the clinic a Criminal Records check from the counrty which you came from.
Another new requirement under the ART Act 2008 are these checks. Our staff can provide you with a form to fill in or download one from the Department of Human Services website link above. Permission is required from you by the clinic to allow submission of the application forms to the Department of Human Services. We will submit the forms for you and the check will be sent back to the clinic direct.
