For those patients who have undergone an IVF or ICSI cycles, and have additional viable embryos after their 'fresh' transfer it is best to freeze these embryos. By doing so, this increases their opportunity to achieve one or more pregnancies as a result of a single egg retrieval procedure.
We aim to replace the embryos into your uterus at the correct time in relation to ovulation and the thickness of the lining of your uterus (endometrium).
FER cycles are less expensive and relatively non-invasive compared to starting a new IVF or ICSI cycle with a fresh embryo transfer. This is because the necessity to undergo stimulation and egg retrieval is eliminated.
