Victorian Assisted Reproductive Treatment Authority (VARTA)

VARTA administer the registration system under the Act. They Undertake public education about treatment procedures and the best interests of children born as a result of treatment procedures. They also undertake community consultation about matters relevant to the Act. They monitor all programs & activities relating to assisted and reproductive treatments in Victoria.

Victoria Police (for criminal record checks)

Criminal Records Check is a requirement under the ART Act 2008 for all people accessing treatment in Victoria. This national Police certificate must be an 'IVF Applicant'.
Discuss further with the Nurse Coordinator.

Child Protection Order Checks

Another requirement under the Assisted Reproductive Treatment Act (2008) are these checks. Our staff can provide you with a form to fill in or download one from the Department of Human Services website link above. Permission is required from you by the clinic to allow submission of the application forms to the Department of Human Services. We will submit the forms for you and the check will be sent back to the clinic direct.

A new check needs to be completed after each birth where another treatment is required.

Patients must complete a consent to apply for the CPOC with a nurse coordinator

Donor Conception Support Group 

www.dcsg.org.au

The Donor Conception Support Group of Australia Inc. is a self funding organisation run by volunteers and has been in existance since 1993.

Membership is made up of people considering or using donor sperm, egg or embryo, those who already have children conceived on donor programmes, adult donor conceived people and donors. DCSG also have social workers , doctors and clinic staff as members of the support group.
